Student vs For Me vs Around Me: Which Plan Includes Education
Three paid plans sit under €20 on My Path. Two of them cost the same. Only one of those two includes Education. The third, cheaper plan includes none. Monthly at €19.99 includes Education as well, but this page is about the three people actually confuse: For Me, Student, and Around Me.
The short version: Education is on Student (€9.99) and on Monthly (€19.99). It is not on For Me (€4.99). It is not on Around Me (€9.99). Student and Around Me are alternatives at the same price. Neither contains the other. If you came from a pricing grid that looked like a ladder — For Me, then Student, then Around Me, then Monthly — that ladder is a layout, not a nesting. Climbing it does not add Education at every rung.
GBP mirrors EUR: £4.99 / £9.99 / £19.99. PLN is zł24.99 / zł49.99 / zł99.99. Prices below are euros.
The comparison table
| For Me | Student | Around Me | Monthly (Premium) | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price | €4.99 | €9.99 | €9.99 | €19.99 |
| Tokens / month | 100 | 250 | 250 | 2000 |
| Trial | 3 days, €0 | none | 3 days, €0 | 7 days, €1.99 |
| Education | none | unlimited | none | unlimited |
| For Me personality / cognitive | yes | yes | (self tests still exist; this plan’s job is people) | yes |
| Around Me (people you track) | no | no | yes | yes |
| Child / People profiles | no | no | yes | yes |
| Priority support | no | no | no | yes |
Student’s product sentence is: For Me personality tests + unlimited Education. Around Me’s product sentence is: people you track + environment/persona tests. Those sentences do not overlap. The Student plan is the Education mid-tier. Around Me is the people mid-tier. Same price, different job.
Unlimited Education is a two-plan entitlement: Student and Monthly. For Me and Around Me inherit the free Education row, which is zero sittings. Not a reduced allowance. Zero.
Student and Around Me are not a ladder
This is the mistake the table is there to prevent.
You see €9.99 twice. You assume the “higher” of the two €9.99 plans includes the “lower” one. There is no higher. They are side by side. Buying Student does not give you Around Me. Buying Around Me does not give you Student. You cannot stack them as add-ons on the same account the way a “plus Education” checkbox would work. If you need both jobs, you pay for Monthly.
Why they cost the same: each is a focused half of Monthly. Monthly is €19.99 with 2000 tokens, Education, Around Me, and priority support. Cut Monthly in half by job, not by a spreadsheet, and you get two €9.99 SKUs. Student keeps Education and a modest token bucket (250) and drops people-tracking. Around Me keeps people-tracking and the same 250 tokens and drops Education. The price parity is the point. It is not a ranking.
If a friend told you “just get Around Me, it includes everything except the expensive AI,” they described a product we do not sell. Around Me includes zero Education. Confirm on plans before you believe a screenshot from a different year.
Education only on Student and Monthly
Education on My Path is exam preparation: languages and maths practice, review, gap reports, a study plan, progress history. Hub: Education. It is not IQ. IQ is For Me / cognitive. It is not personality. Personality is For Me.
The live catalogue is six public tests:
- General English (~577 items, CEFR A1–C2, vocabulary / grammar / reading / writing)
- General French (~576 items, same grid)
- General German (~576 items, same grid)
- General Spanish (~576 items, same grid)
- Math Kangaroo (past-paper items, grades 3–4 through 11–12)
- General Math (whole maths bank, one grade band per sitting)
How those sittings run — sizes 10/20/60, timer, feedback, one Level or Grade per session — is in the Education hub guide. English-specific detail is in the CEFR English guide. Maths: General Math and Math Kangaroo. What the module is, as a product, is Education on My Path.
None of that catalogue opens on For Me. None of it opens on Around Me. A For Me subscriber who clicks Education sees a lock, not a reduced paper. An Around Me subscriber sees the same lock. Signup grace does not open it either. The only keys are a live Student subscription or a live Monthly subscription.
SAT, GCSE, TOEFL, IELTS, Abitur, E8, and Physics are not live. Do not pick a plan because an old article listed them.
For Me at €4.99 has zero Education
For Me is the self-knowledge plan. Personality tests, cognitive tests, 100 tokens a month, a three-day trial at €0. It is the right plan if you want to understand yourself and you will not practise languages or maths here.
It is the wrong plan if you saw “premium” and assumed every paid tier includes every module. Paid is not a single switch. For Me is paid. For Me still has zero Education. People buy For Me, hit the Education hub, and feel cheated. They were not cheated. They bought the plan that does not include that hub. The fix is Student (or Monthly), not a support ticket asking to “turn on school.”
For Me’s trial exists because the product is exploratory: take a test, read a result, decide if the AI layer is worth 100 tokens a month. Education does not work that way on our pricing. There is no “try one Kangaroo paper” SKU on For Me. There is also no Student trial. Different modules, different commercial shape. Why Student has no trial is the dedicated explanation.
Personality results remain free even if you pay for nothing. You can take For Me tests and keep scores without a subscription. Tokens meter AI on top of those scores. Education sittings are a different meter, and For Me’s reading on that meter is zero.
Around Me at €9.99 has zero Education
Around Me is people. Partners, colleagues, the environment and persona tests, child profiles, the tracking shelf. 250 tokens. Three-day trial at €0. Same price as Student.
It is the right plan if your question is about someone else — or about the space between you and someone else — and you will not use Education.
It is the wrong plan if you picked it because it cost €9.99 and Student also cost €9.99 and you figured they were the same tier with a different name. They are not. Around Me will not open General German. It will not open Kangaroo. It will not open General Math. The trial will also not open those things, because the trial is a trial of Around Me, not a trial of Education.
Parents sometimes assume Around Me includes Education because children and school sit next to each other in real life. On My Path they do not sit on the same plan. Child profiles are an Around Me / Monthly feature. Education is a Student / Monthly feature. A parent who wants both — track a child and drill grade-band maths — is a Monthly customer, not an Around Me customer who hopes the school bit is “in there somewhere.”
Monthly is the plan that holds both jobs
Monthly (the Premium plan on the card) is €19.99, 2000 tokens, seven-day trial at €1.99, unlimited Education, Around Me, priority support. It is the only plan that is a superset of Student and Around Me.
Choose Monthly if you would otherwise want to buy both €9.99 plans. Choose Monthly if 250 tokens will not cover the AI you actually run. Choose Monthly if you want the queue-jump on support. Do not choose Monthly only because you want Education; Student already has Education. Do not choose Monthly only because you want people-tracking; Around Me already has people-tracking. The reason to pay the extra €10 is the combination, the token ceiling, or both.
GBP £19.99, PLN zł99.99, same rank in the grid.
Who should pick which
Pick For Me (€4.99) if you want personality and cognitive tests, you like a three-day free look, 100 tokens is enough, and Education is not on your list. If you later want Education, you change plan; you do not “unlock a subject” inside For Me.
Pick Student (€9.99) if you will practise the live six — English, French, German, Spanish, Math Kangaroo, General Math — and you still want your own For Me tests. You accept no trial, 250 tokens, and no people-tracking. The button is Get Student — €9.99/month. Is Student worth it? is the honest value piece; this page is only the map.
Pick Around Me (€9.99) if you will track people and you will not open Education. You get a three-day trial. You get 250 tokens. You get zero Education. That last sentence is load-bearing.
Pick Monthly (€19.99) if you need Education and Around Me together, or you need 2000 tokens, or you need both of those plus priority support. Trial is seven days at €1.99, not free.
Pick nothing if you only wanted free personality results. Those stay free. Do not subscribe to unlock scores you already have.
How to decide in two questions
Question one: will you use Education this month — actually sit a language or maths practice, not bookmark it? If no, Student is the wrong €9.99. Look at For Me or Around Me depending on whether the remaining work is about you or about other people. If yes, you are on Student or Monthly. For Me and Around Me are out.
Question two: do you also need to track other people, or 2000 tokens, or priority support? If no, Student. If yes, Monthly.
That is the whole decision. People complicate it by treating the four rows as a prestige ranking. Prestige is not a column. Education is a column. It has two ticks: Student and Monthly.
A few false ties, in case they are yours:
- “I’ll get Around Me and use the trial to try Education.” The trial does not open Education. Around Me’s trial is Around Me.
- “I’ll get For Me first, then add Education later as a toggle.” There is no toggle. You change to Student or Monthly.
- “Student includes a bit of Around Me because it is more expensive than For Me.” Student is more expensive than For Me because of Education and 250 tokens, not because of people.
- “Monthly is the only way to get Education.” Monthly is one of two ways. Student is the other, at half the list price, without people-tracking.
What “includes Education” means in practice
On Student and Monthly, unlimited covers the advertised Education surface: practice sessions, exam mocks when any exist (the Exams shelf is currently empty of live tests), AI explanations, gap reports, the study plan, and progress history. You pick 10, 20, or 60 questions. You pick a timer. You pick one CEFR level or one grade band. You review. You retry wrong and flagged items. You do not pay per sitting.
On For Me and Around Me, that surface does not open. The free Education row is 0. There is no “three papers a month” consolation prize on those plans.
Tokens are a separate meter. Student and Around Me both have 250. That equality is not evidence that the plans are the same. It is evidence that the mid-tier token bucket is 250, attached to two different products.
Read this, then pick
If the table was all you needed: Education is Student and Monthly only. For Me has none. Around Me has none. Student is not Around Me. Get Student — €9.99/month if Education is the job. Open the Education hub to see the six live tests before you pay — the cards are visible; sitting them is not, until Student or Monthly is live.
