Online Math Practice for Students on My Path
My Path is an assessment platform. Education is the part that is exam preparation: study, practise, pass. It is not IQ — IQ lives under For Me, with cognitive tests. It is not a personality test. Online math practice for students sits on the Education hub, on the Practice shelf, as General Math and as Math Kangaroo, with the same sitting machinery as the language drills: a grade band, a length, a review.
This page is who that is for, what a sitting actually feels like, what it costs, and how it differs from the personality tests the rest of the site is known for.
Who it is for
School students who need to practise maths at a band that matches their year, not a viral quiz and not a named qualification we do not currently offer. They want algebra or geometry or a mixed set, 20 questions, a score they can retry.
Parents who will set the band, the length, and sometimes the topic, then let the student sit. The card defaults to the middle three bands (5–6, 7–8, 9–10), Medium, 20 questions. Untick until it matches the child. Grade 3–4 and 11–12 are one click away. Several grades still become one band at start; they do not mix. Online math practice by grade band is the control surface. Why grade bands matter is the reason.
Kangaroo prep. Math Kangaroo is on the Practice shelf. People drill it. It is not a school-leaving exam sitting. It is past-paper items, grade bands 3–4 through 11–12, weighted by 3/4/5 points, no wrong-answer penalty (editions disagree by country and year, so we do not guess). We are not affiliated with official Math Kangaroo / Kangourou sans Frontières. Math Kangaroo practice and Kangaroo grade levels are the contest-shaped guides. General Math is the whole-subject query and can still serve Kangaroo items when grade and topic match.
General fluency. Not everyone has a contest date. Some students need number and fractions to stop leaking, or Mixed Problems because they freeze when the item will not name the strand. Topic practice is a closed list: algebra, geometry, statistics, number, fractions, Mixed Problems. Math practice by topic explains why Mixed Problems is not called Unclassified.
If you are here for a personality profile, you are in the wrong article. If you are here for IQ, you are in the wrong shelf. If you are here to sit SAT, GCSE, or a Polish eighth-grade exam as a live product, we do not offer those. Polish items can exist in the maths bank from a retired exam; they are not that exam on the Exams shelf.
Where you start
Signed-in, open /education. Two shelves. Practice first: General Math, four languages (English, French, German, Spanish), and Math Kangaroo. Exams second: real past papers sat the way the exam runs. Currently no live exam-shelf tests. Do not look for a hidden catalogue of named qualifications.
Pick General Math or Kangaroo. Set Grade (or leave the default middle three if you truly accept a roll). Set complexity if you need to; default is Medium only. Narrow topic if you want. Choose 10, 20, or 60 questions. Timer off, relaxed, or exam mode. Feedback immediate or at the end. Navigation free or forward-only. Then Start practice.
Languages on the same hub use Level, CEFR A1–C2, and four skills: vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing. No listening, no speaking, no audio. This article is maths. The grade axis is 3–4 through 11–12.
How a sitting actually feels
The item is the item. Maths renders as maths: KaTeX in the session, so an equation is an equation, not a fuzzy photograph of one, when the stem can be set in type. When the item has a figure, the figure is on the page. Word problems on this platform include the stem and the picture. Guessing the topic without the picture is how you practise the wrong question.
You can skip ("I don't know") and flag for review. Skip is for items you will not guess your way through. Flag is for items you want in a pile at the end. Neither removes the item from the score in a special way you need to game; they are navigation. Forward-only mode, if you turn it on, is stricter about going back. Free navigation is the default teaching-friendly setting.
Timer is optional. Off means off. Relaxed is a pace without pretending this is a national paper. Exam mode is for when you want pressure. General Math is still not a live named exam. Kangaroo practice is still not the official contest.
Immediate feedback tells you after each item. Review at end keeps the sitting clean and dumps the truth in one go. Use immediate when you are sitting with the student. Use review at end when you want a measurement.
There is no "show me a similar question from a different grade" escape hatch. The band you rolled is the band you are in.
Review, retry, mastery
When the sitting ends you see score, correct, wrong, skipped. Retry wrong. Retry flagged. Full retake. AI gap analysis if you have tokens and an Education entitlement — it is not a per-test purchase.
The hub keeps mastery per topic: a bar, complexity 1–5, streaks. Topic master at 80%. Badges exist (first lesson, perfect score, 7-day streak, topic master, exam ready, polyglot). Mention them, then ignore them. The work is the next sitting at the same band.
Retry wrong is the highest-leverage button on the screen. A new 60 of mixed topics feels productive and teaches you less than twenty misses from Tuesday.

Get Student — €9.99/month. No trial wording, because Student has no trial. Signup grace days do not open Education. You cannot "just try a 10-question maths sitting" on For Me.
Student includes For Me personality tests plus unlimited Education. It does not include People or child profiles. It does not include priority support (Monthly does). Student and Around Me cost the same and are alternatives, not a ladder. Around Me is people you track and environment/persona tests. Student is Education. Pick one. Tokens meter AI, including gap analysis. Education sittings themselves are the entitlement. You do not buy General Math per attempt.
Monthly is the plan if you already know you want Education plus the rest of the platform and the token ceiling. It is not a requirement for maths practice. Student is enough for unlimited Education.
Contrast with personality tests
Personality tests on My Path answer a different question: what you are like, how you work, how you relate. Results of those tests can be free; AI on top of them is metered in tokens. They have no grade band, no KaTeX stem, no Mixed Problems topic, no 10/20/60 practice card.
Education sittings do not produce a type. They produce a score for a query you set: this band, these topics, this length. Sharing a maths score as if it were a personality badge misses the point. Putting a child through a personality battery because you meant to practise fractions is the same mistake in the other direction.
For Me (€4.99) is the personality-and-IQ-shaped plan. It does not include Education. Buying For Me for school maths is the wrong SKU. Around Me is also the wrong SKU for school maths. Student is the SKU. Education on My Path is the product map.
The cabinet will happily sell you both kinds of product over a lifetime. It will not blend them in one sitting.
What a week of student practice can look like
Two General Math sittings at one band, 20 questions, medium: one topic, one mixed (or Mixed Problems). One Kangaroo sitting if the contest is in view, at the matching level. Retry wrong once. Stop. That is already more signal than seven mixed 60s across three bands.
Parents: sit with the student for the first immediate-feedback 10, then switch to review-at-end 20s they run alone. Do not raise the band as a reward. Raise it when the current band's medium 20s are boring for the right reason.
Students: skip rather than random-pick. Flag the ones that felt like a different subject than the topic tick. If you flagged half of Mixed Problems, that is the topic telling you it is doing its job.
Ten, twenty, or sixty
Ten questions is a drill you can finish before a lesson. Use it for one topic, or for retrying a flagged pile, not as your only measurement of the week. Twenty is the default because it is long enough to show a pattern and short enough that a student will actually complete it. Sixty is a long practice block. It is still one band. It is not a hidden past paper from a retired exam family.
The card disables a length it cannot fill for the band that might get rolled. If 60 is grey, the pool is too thin — often because you narrowed to one topic in a shallow band, or because you are on a language that only has items at one grade. Widen topic, pick a deeper band, or sit 20. Do not tick extra grades to "make 60 possible." Extra grades still roll one band; they do not merge pools.
Timer off is the right default for homework. Relaxed is for students who rush. Exam mode is for contest-week Kangaroo pacing, on the Kangaroo card, not as a way to pretend General Math is a school-leaving paper.
What the locked hub means
If you open /education on For Me or Around Me, you can see the catalogue and you cannot start a sitting. That is the entitlement working, not a broken card. Signup grace does not punch a hole in it. There is no "first 10 questions free" for maths.
Student is the plan that was built for this page. Monthly also unlocks Education if you already want the rest of the platform and the token ceiling. Tokens are for AI (gap analysis and the rest of the cabinet's metered features). The sitting itself is included once Education is on the plan. You do not spend 250 tokens to take a 20-question algebra block.
Languages on the same hub — General English, French, German, Spanish — use CEFR levels and four skills, no audio. A student on Student can sit those too. They are not maths, and they do not share grade bands with maths. Do not pick "B1" on a maths card; there is no B1 there.
Word problems are a large part of what students will actually see: stems plus figures, KaTeX in the line, Mixed Problems when the puzzle will not name the strand. That is normal. It is not the card failing to find "proper" school questions.
Honest limits
No live SAT, GCSE, Abitur, or Polish eighth-grade exam product. No official Kangaroo affiliation. No claim that practice gets you into a school. No listening or speaking in the language drills if you wander to those cards. No Education on For Me, Around Me, or during signup grace.
Pictures matter. Some items cannot be classified, or answered, without the diagram. Topic is a closed list. Grade is required. Length is 10, 20, or 60.
